The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has lashed out at the recent meeting between PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi.
The APC accused the two politicians of being desperate for the presidency and ignoring the efforts of President Bola Tinubu.
Former PDP spokesperson Kola Ologbondiyan has hit back at the APC’s comments. He mocked the ruling party, saying they are in a state of panic over the Atiku-Obi meeting.
Ologbondiyan questioned the APC’s priorities, accusing them of focusing on political drama instead of addressing important governance issues. Ridiculing the party’s response, suggesting they are more concerned with attacking their opponents than actually leading the country.
Ologbondiyan stated, “I just can’t stop laughing at the theatrics of these APCites”.
“In one breath, they will tell Nigerians that elections are over, and those who have been elected should be allowed to govern as if any Nigerian has the strength to stop them if they have any form of capacity for the needful.
“On the flip, they are sweating that Atiku and PeterObi met in Abuja, a situation that has shoved them down to a frenzy in the media space.
“It speaks volumes that the same persons who should be raising issues of governance are the ones now politicking just because Atiku and Peter Obi met.
“Isn’t this a case of the guilty running even when no one pursues?”
This back-and-forth between the opposition and the ruling party shows the tense political climate in Nigeria. The question some people ask is, will this political tensions distract from the real issues facing the country?.
