The 8th Uyo Legislative Council has received the 2025 Appropriation Estimate of N9.608 billion from the Executive Chairman of Uyo Local Government Area, Dr. Uwemedimo Udo
This is in line with the provision of Local Government Administration law as amended 2017, under sub-section 25, (1).
The proposed bill, which was presented at the Legislative Chamber during plenary on Thursday, December 19, 2024 is tagged “Budget of Consolidation and Advancement”.
While presenting the budget, Uyo Council Boss commended the Councillors for their robust support and cooperation between the executive arm and Legislature in the last two months.
Dr. Udo sued for more in the remaining months of the administration for continuous enjoyment of democratic dividends by individuals in the urban and rural communities.
Responding, the Leader of the 8th Legislature, Hon. Ekemini Bassey applauded Dr. Udo for capturing Education, Health, Agriculture, and Social programmes that aligns with the ARISE Agenda of the 2025 appropriation bill and promised for good partnership with the executive arm.
The Leader assured Uyo Council Boss for immediate acceleration of the bill and referred to the house committee on finance and appropriation for immediate action.
The House later adjourned its plenary to Wednesday, December 30, 2024.
