In his final match for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Kylian Mbappe expressed his pride in leaving the club “with his head held high” after securing victory in the French Cup final.
PSG triumphed over Lyon with a 2-1 win, although Mbappe did not score in the match. With his contract now expired, he is expected to join Real Madrid, although no official announcement has been made yet.
Reflecting on the final, Mbappe stated, “To finish with a trophy in a final, there is no better way. It feels really good.”
He emphasized that he will reveal his future club at the appropriate time, indicating that an announcement will likely be made in the coming days. Despite leaving PSG, Mbappe expressed his focus on ending his time with the club on a high note.
While he did not find the net in the final, Mbappe leaves PSG with an impressive record of 256 goals in 308 appearances, making him the club’s all-time leading goal scorer. PSG secured the victory with goals from Ousmane Dembele and Fabian Ruiz, with Lyon’s Jake O’Brien scoring a consolation goal in the second half.
