A yet to be identified student from Ajayi Crowther University was reportedly beaten to death by fellow students over suspicions of phone theft. The incident occurred in a hostel called Shepherd Inn on the university premises in Oyo State.
Reports indicated that the student had his hair shaved forcibly by the attackers after being caught with the stolen phone. According to an anonymous source at the school, the student was subjected to beatings from 6 pm on Friday until around 10 am on Saturday.
“They said they caught him with a stolen phone. They started beating him from 6pm yesterday (Friday) until he died at about 10am today (Saturday).
The students living in Shepherd’s Inn hostel reportedly undressed the victim, shaved his head, and collectively attacked and beat him from 10 pm on Friday until 6 am on Saturday. Sadly, he was left outside in the rain where he eventually passed away.
Alex, a 200-level Engineering student, was later discovered dead in front of the hostel on Saturday morning.
