A fresh protest has erupted in Kano State following the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Emir of Kano.
Protesters are demanding the removal of Sanusi and the reappointment of Aminu Ado Bayero as Emir.
The protests are centered on the state road near the Nasarawa residence, where Aminu Ado Bayero currently resides.
The protesters, carrying placards with various inscriptions, marched through the streets, chanting solidarity songs to emphasize their demands.
This new wave of protests comes shortly after a similar demonstration in the Gaya area of the North-West state.
The protesters are also opposing the dissolution of the Gaya Emirate by the state government.

The Gaya Emirate was one of several emirate councils recently dissolved by the Kano State Government following amendments to the Kano Emirates Council Law of 2019.
This law, passed by the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)-controlled House of Assembly, reversed the 2020 law enacted by former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, which created additional emirates and dethroned Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 14th Emir of Kano.
The dissolution of the emirate councils was completed when Governor Abba Yusuf signed the amendment bill into law.
He instructed the emirs of the affected emirates, including Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, Emir of Gaya, to hand over their positions to Deputy Governor Abdulsalam Gwarzo, who oversees the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Following this order, Governor Yusuf presented Sanusi with his letter of appointment as the 16th Emir of Kano.
Sanusi promptly returned to the palace in Kano, viewing his reinstatement as an act of divine will.
