In a dramatic turn of events today, a suspected member of a notorious cult was apprehended by local authorities after allegedly stealing a significant sum of money in Ilorin, the capital city of Kwara State.

The suspect, identified as Bola Adeoti, was caught in the act by vigilant residents in the Tanke area. According to eyewitnesses, Adeoti had broken into a local shop early this morning, making off with approximately 320,000 Naira in cash.

The shop owner, Mr. Ebuka, who was alerted by the noise, quickly raised an alarm that drew the attention of nearby residents.

Residents reported that Adeoti attempted to flee the scene but was pursued and eventually captured by a group of young men. During the chase, Adeoti was reportedly seen discarding items believed to be charms and other paraphernalia associated with his cult activities.

Upon apprehension, the suspect was handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, ‘A’ Division, Ilorin. During initial questioning, Adeoti confessed to the theft and revealed his affiliation with a local cult group known for its involvement in various criminal activities within the state.

Further investigations are underway to uncover more details about the cult’s operations and to identify other members involved in criminal activities. Adeoti is currently in police custody and is expected to be charged to court once the investigation is concluded.
