The government of Niger State has reduced the tuition fees of Abdulkadir Kure University of Education by 50% to ease the impact of fuel subsidy removal on students and their parents. This information was shared in a statement signed by the university’s Pro-chancellor, Prof Muhammed Yahaya-Kuta, in Minna, the state capital, on Friday.
The pro Chancellor mentioned that Governor Mohammed Bago’s intention with the reduction is to ease the financial challenges faced by students and parents.
Bago highlighted that this step would help mitigate the impact of the current economic difficulties on students and their families due to the fuel subsidy removal by the Federal Government.
All students enrolled in regular courses at the university will benefit from a 50% reduction in registration fees for the ongoing 2023/2024 academic session.
The governor, in celebrating with the students, parents, and residents of the state, expressed his wish that both the beneficiaries and the entire state would offer their backing to the government for its success.
He urged those benefitting from the reduction to show their appreciation by dedicating themselves more to their studies, contributing to the state’s progress and the betterment of humanity in general.
