President Bola Tinubu is set to reveal the largest painting portrait on canvas globally, marking the 25th anniversary of Democracy in the nation.

Opeyemi Alaba, the coordinator of the project, mentioned in an interview with Arise News on Wednesday morning that the unveiling will take place today at Eagles Square, Abuja.

He characterized the painting as a symbol of optimism for Nigerians and the entire African continent.

Alaba, who opted not to reveal the painting’s theme, disclosed that it involved the collaborative effort of 37 painters, each representing the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Additionally, he shared that the inspiration behind the portrait stemmed from the likenesses of former United States President Barack Obama and Queen Elizabeth.

Before the unveiling, the President had already delivered the 2024 Democracy Day speech, covering a range of issues impacting the nation.

Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to entrenching democracy as the cornerstone of Nigerian society, encouraging citizens to remain optimistic for a brighter tomorrow.

Furthermore, he announced the resolution of the longstanding debate on the new minimum wage between the Federal Government and organized labor. Additionally, he disclosed plans to send an executive bill to the National Assembly to formalize the agreement on the new minimum wage.
