The Commissioner of Police (CP) for Ondo State Command, Mr. Abayomi Oladipo, has distributed cheques totaling N38.8 million to widows and family members of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
This initiative, aimed at supporting the families of deceased officers, reflects the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, to ensuring their welfare.
SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the command’s Public Relations Officer, highlighted the significance of this gesture in a statement released in Akure on Wednesday.
According to Odunlami-Omisanya, the cheques are intended for claim settlement, Group Life Assurance, and Group Personal Accident Insurance schemes.
These measures are designed to enhance the welfare of late officers’ families.
In his address, Oladipo encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds judiciously for the betterment of their families.
This initiative underscores the police force’s commitment to supporting its personnel and their families, even in the face of adversity.
