Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, has emphasized the importance of sacrifices from both leaders and followers for the progress of Nigeria. Representing the Oyo South Senatorial District, Alli made this declaration during a recent statement.

According to the lawmaker, Nigeria can overcome obstacles and achieve development when leaders and followers alike contribute their fair share.

Alli, who was elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC), further explained that President Bola Tinubu is fully committed to addressing the challenges faced by the nation.

In commemoration of Democracy Day, Alli’s statement highlighted the significant sacrifices made by the late Chief Moshood Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the June 12th, 1993 presidential election. Abiola selflessly prioritized the nation’s interests, even at the expense of his personal comfort.

Issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, the statement emphasized the current juncture in Nigeria’s history, brimming with hope and the promise of a brighter future.

“All Nigerians were urged to maintain hope and steadfastness on the collective journey towards a greater nation under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.”

“The legacy of Chief Moshood Abiola epitomizes courage and resilience, as he unwaveringly fought for his June 12 mandate, even at the ultimate cost of his life. Together, the Nigerian people have the potential to forge a nation that fulfills the aspirations of all its citizens—a nation characterized by peace, progress, and prosperity”,he stated.
