Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni, a leader of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), has encouraged social media influencers to quit criticizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over an event that transpired during the Democracy Day celebrations in Abuja.

The APC chairman stated that what occurred on Wednesday might happen to anyone in the country.

Mumuni, in his reply, asked citizens, particularly those on social media, to avoid ridiculing the president.

The APC chairman, who stated that such an occurrence might happen to anybody, asked individuals to focus on subjects that can lead to national growth.

The APC chieftain made these assertions in a statement signed and made available to journalists through his Media Aide, Rasheed Abubakar on Wednesday.

The APC chieftain said, “What I am saying is that Nigerians spend time on some issues that they don’t need to worry about.

“There are other important issues that we can focus on. Issues that will bring development to the country.

What does president misstep has to to with governance. Anybody can experience it. Wether strong or not, anyone can misstep his way.

“But, many people are saying a lot of things on the social media. So, it has nothing to do with governance. What Nigerians need to focus on is governance. We need to think of how to get out of the present challenges facing the country.

“Joe Biden too fell once when he was climbing the plane stairs. Anyone can miss their step climbing the stairs. Biden fell multiple times missing his steps.

“It has happened to other President outside Nigeria. We should learn how to embrace respect to the elders.
