President Bola Tinubu has commented on the widely shared video of him tripping and falling as he got into the presidential car at Eagles Square in Abuja.

Tinubu dubbed the fall a “swagger” in jest, adding that, as a typical Yoruba kid, he was celebrating Democracy Day by giving the traditional “dobale” greeting.

During this year’s Democracy Day celebration at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu said this.

Tinubu stated, “I had a swagger early this morning, and it’s on the social media,” with a hint of humor. They couldn’t tell if I was doing Buga or Babariga, but today is a day to honor democracy by participating in “Idobale” activities.

“I am a traditional Yoruba boy and I did my ‘Idobale'”

It was earlier reported that Tinubu had a slip while approaching the car as soon as he got at the 2024 Democracy Day location, but he temporarily lost his balance as he tried to get inside.

The President stumbled a little, but he caught himself and carried on with the meeting.
