Vice-President Kashim Shettima has issued a passionate appeal to the Nigerian populace, urging them not to relinquish politics entirely to politicians.

Instead, he advocates for a strong partnership between the government and business leaders, recognizing its pivotal role in propelling Nigeria’s economic growth and fostering prosperity.

Speaking at the prestigious Heirs Holdings Group Directors’ Annual Summit Dinner in Abuja, Vice-President Shettima stressed the significance of open dialogue, shared insights, and collaborative endeavors between the public and private sectors.

He believes that these elements hold the key to developing effective solutions that cater to Nigeria’s unique circumstances.

Highlighting the interconnectedness of the political class and economic stakeholders, Shettima emphasizes that they are not opposing forces but rather complementary entities crucial for national stability and progress.

“Politics is far too important to be solely entrusted to politicians, just as the enterprises shaping our economic destiny cannot be left solely to businessmen,” he asserted.

In alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s economic agenda, Vice-President Shettima called upon conglomerates to serve as conduits for the government’s pragmatic economic vision, departing from superficial reforms of the past.

“The essence of a thriving economy lies in the collaboration between the public and private sectors. We must foster open dialogue, exchange insights, and work collectively to cultivate solutions that are tailor-made for our specific realities.

Whether it involves addressing unemployment, alleviating poverty, or bolstering education and healthcare, our partnership must strive to drive sustainable development and forge a secure future for all Nigerians,” Shettima added, underlining the imperative nature of this collaborative approach.
