Sports Writers Association of Nigeria Appoints New Officers The Bauchi State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has elected a new set of officials to lead the association for the next three years. The election, in line with the statute of the association, was presided over by the North-East Zonal Vice President of SWAN, Comrade Ahmed Kagana Amshi, with the support of the National Welfare Officer, Mr. Austin Ajayi, and National EX-Officio, Alh Shehu Abass aka Osculator.

The newly elected state executives include Bala Bawaji of FRCN, Globe FM as Chairman, Adamu Shehu Imrana of Trust TV as Vice Chairman, Elizabeth Kah of BATV as Secretary, Selya Yarnap of Champion Newspapers as Treasurer, Abubakar Usman Shehu of BATV as Financial Secretary, Imrana Yakubu Galaje of BRC as Welfare Officer, and Mubarak Aliyu Bako of Albarka FM as Assistant Secretary. Additionally, Mohammed Nasiru Shuaibu of Telegraph and Abdullahi Shehu Yankari were appointed Ex-officio.

The National President of SWAN, Comrade Isaiah Benjamin, emphasized the importance of unity and friendship among sports writers across the country, highlighting their responsibility in providing reports that allow people to relax. He stressed the need for a strong, virile, and united SWAN across the country and charged the newly elected and sworn members of the EXCO to lead with fairness and inclusivity, irrespective of affiliations.

The election of the new officials marks an important milestone for the Bauchi State chapter of SWAN, signifying a new phase of leadership and direction for the association.
