Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has issued a passionate plea to security agencies to tackle the troubling rise of thuggery within the state. His concerns were articulated during the 15th weekly meeting of the Kano State Executive Council held at the Government House, where he expressed dismay over recent outbreaks of violence in certain areas of Kano city.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, the governor underscored his firm stance against the disruptive activities of gangs known as Yan daba. “The government cannot stand idly by while troublemakers threaten the peace and harmony that our law-abiding citizens cherish,” Governor Abba affirmed.

Highlighting ongoing collaborative efforts with security forces, Governor Abba reiterated the state’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all Kano residents. “We are actively working alongside our security partners to guarantee the protection of our people around the clock,” he reassured.

Turning his attention to the judiciary, Governor Abba cautioned against premature releases of individuals involved in thuggish activities. “Judges must recognize the grave threat these elements pose to our community’s welfare and ensure swift and fair dispensation of justice,” he emphasized.

The governor also issued a stern directive to security agencies, urging them to stay focused on their core responsibilities. “Security personnel must prioritize their mandate of safeguarding lives and properties, refraining from involvement in extraneous matters,” he cautioned.

Appealing directly to the people of Kano, Governor Abba called for their continued adherence to lawful conduct. He assured them of the government’s unwavering commitment to their protection, urging ongoing support and cooperation. “Your safety remains our top priority as we persist in our efforts to uphold law and order,” he concluded earnestly.
