Police officers stormed a local company in Ibadan this morning to arrest one of its workers, who was allegedly involved in a robbery attack last night.
The identity of the company has been withheld pending further investigation.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, was reportedly part of a gang that orchestrated a violent robbery in a residential area in Ibadan.
Eyewitnesses described the robbery as a coordinated and aggressive attack, which left several residents traumatized.
According to the police, the suspect was tracked down through a combination of surveillance footage and witness testimonies. Acting on this information, officers moved swiftly to apprehend the individual at his workplace early today.
“We have strong evidence linking this individual to the robbery that took place last night,” said a police spokesperson.
“Our officers acted promptly to detain the suspect, who will now be thoroughly interrogated to uncover further details about the gang’s activities.”
Employees at the company were stunned by the sudden police presence but cooperated fully with the authorities.
One worker, who asked to remain anonymous, expressed shock upon learning of their colleague’s alleged involvement in such a serious crime.
“It’s terrifying to think someone you see every day could be involved in something so dangerous.” The worker said.
The police assured the public that they were committed to cracking down on criminal activities in Ibadan and urged anyone with additional information about the robbery to come forward.
They also reassured residents that security measures are being intensified to prevent further incidents.
