Former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai has taken legal action against the Kaduna State House of Assembly over corruption accusations.

El-Rufai contests a committee report from the Assembly alleging misappropriation of ₦432 billion during his tenure, leading to substantial state debt.

El-Rufai asserts that the committee failed to afford him a fair hearing and seeks a court declaration nullifying the report.

His spokesperson, Muyiwa Adekeye, has denounced the allegations as baseless and reaffirmed the integrity of El-Rufai’s administration.

This lawsuit marks the latest development in the Kaduna Assembly’s investigation into El-Rufai’s financial stewardship.

The committee’s recommendations include further investigation and potential prosecution of El-Rufai and certain cabinet members for alleged misconduct, misuse of public funds, and financial improprieties.
