In a surprising turn of events, Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio has vehemently denied any intentions to procure new aircrafts for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
This statement was made during Akpabio’s visit to Senator Tahir Monguno in Maiduguri to offer condolences on the loss of his father.
Addressing the media from his office in Abuja, Akpabio clarified that the reports suggesting the Senate’s proposal to acquire new aircrafts for the president and vice president were entirely false and the work of “propagandists” and “fifth columnists”.
He emphasized that the Senate’s primary focus is on enacting legislation that supports the realization of President Tinubu’s ambitious hope agenda.
“I want to dispel the rumor that you are hearing, claiming that the Senate president has pledged to purchase a new plane for the president and his vice, regardless of the prevailing economic conditions and the plight of Nigerians,” Akpabio stated firmly.
“I never made such a statement. I was actually in Zanzibar, Tanzania, at the time. These reports are nothing but fabrications by those who consistently undermine our efforts.”
Akpabio urged the public to have faith in the government, be patient, and pray for the nation’s progress. He assured Nigerians that the dynamic leadership duo of Tinubu and Shettima will usher in a period of prosperity and abundance for all.
Expressing his satisfaction with the return of peace in Borno State, Akpabio acknowledged the role played by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in achieving this milestone.
He called upon the people of Borno to continue supporting the administration’s efforts to ensure lasting peace and development in the region.
