Rangers International Football Club of Enugu has announced a technical partnership with Green Foot Ladies, a female football team based in Enugu. The collaboration has been facilitated through the club’s sponsors and partners, Afrinvest, in preparation for the upcoming CAF Champions League.

Norbert Okolie, the Media Officer of Rangers FC, spoke about the partnership in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). He emphasized that the aim of the partnership is to provide comprehensive support to Green Foot Ladies, thereby promoting the growth of women’s football not only in Enugu State but also beyond.

Okolie stated, “This partnership underscores our commitment to promoting inclusivity, excellence, and opportunity in the sports we love. Together, we aim to nurture talent, enhance skills, and elevate the profile of women’s football in Enugu State and beyond.”

The decision to form a female team aligns with the requirements set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for participation in the Champions League. Rangers FC has officially adopted Green Foot Ladies as their team, fulfilling CAF’s regulations.

Okolie further revealed that Rangers FC has been actively supporting the women’s team by providing them with kits, training grounds, and other technical assistance.

In other news, the flying antelopes, as Rangers FC is commonly known, recently clinched the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title. They secured the championship by defeating Gombe United with a score of 2-1 at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos. As a result of this victory, Rangers FC has earned the opportunity to represent Nigeria in the upcoming CAF Champions League.
