The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has established a disciplinary panel to investigate two operatives accused of assaulting a woman during a raid on a hotel in Lagos on Thursday.

EFCC Spokesman Dele Oyewale, in a statement released on Monday in Abuja, announced that the implicated officers were scheduled to appear before the panel that same day.

Oyewale explained that EFCC Chairman Mr. Ola Olukoyede formed the disciplinary team to examine the case involving the two operatives, who allegedly assaulted a female staff member of Regional Hotel in Ojo, Lagos.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the officers were seen in a viral video assaulting the hotel staff during an early morning sting operation on Thursday.

“Olukoyede ordered the arrest of the two officers and directed them to appear before a joint Disciplinary Team comprising the Appointment, Promotion, and Disciplinary Committee (APDC) and the Department of Ethics and Integrity,” Oyewale stated.

The officers are scheduled to appear before the team on Monday, July 1, at the EFCC Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

“The team will examine the case and recommend appropriate disciplinary actions against the officers,” he added.

According to Oyewale, Olukoyede emphasized that every effort would be made to hold the officers accountable for their unprofessional conduct.
