Popular Nigerian singer Banky W has taken to social media to announce his pursuit of a master’s degree, showcasing his commitment to lifelong learning.
Despite his career as an artist and music executive, the 43-year-old, who is married to actress Adesua Etomi and a father of one, has enrolled at Georgetown University in Washington DC.
Formerly the CEO of EME record label, which launched artists like Wizkid and Skales, Banky W explained that he chose to step away from corporate leadership to prioritize further education in policy.
Sharing a video from his classroom alongside professors and fellow students, he emphasized the importance of focusing on what truly matters.

“I am presently pursuing my master’s degree at Georgetown University in Washington DC. I’ve transitioned from being a CEO to being a student, because I believe in letting go of what’s impressive to gain what’s important. Here’s to the journey of learning and growth.”
