Elsie Evelyn Avemegah, mother to Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale, has expressed deep distress over what she describes as neglect from her son.

In a recent video circulating on social media, the 70-year-old revealed her deteriorating health condition, which includes hypertension, and lamented that she has not received any support from Shatta Wale for over a decade.

Elsie, currently under the care of her sister and niece, Sharita Aheteku, due to her health challenges, appealed to the public for financial assistance.

“My name is Elsie Evelyn Avemegah. I am Shatta Wale’s biological mother. I haven’t had contact with my son for about 10 years or more now. He doesn’t know where I live or what I eat, but now my health is deteriorating and I am in serious need,” she said in the video.
