Daniel Bwala, a former aide to ex-vice president Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has expressed his disapproval of Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume’s recent comments regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Ndume, the Senate chief whip, made statements during an interview with thepaan, suggesting that Tinubu is being controlled by individuals with ulterior motives within Aso Rock.
According to Ndume, the president is unaware of the hardships faced by Nigerians, and attempts by ministers or senators to meet with him have been hindered by those surrounding Tinubu.
In response to these remarks, Bwala, known for his staunch support of the president, expressed his opinion on his media platform.
“It seems that Senator Ali Ndume’s media appearances and outbursts are driven by personal and selfish motives. It appears to be more about his own interests and a desire for attention-seeking and grandstanding.”
Bwala further emphasized that the president has the prerogative to meet with whomever he chooses, whenever he deems fit.
“If you have concerns about the welfare of the people and the state of the economy but are unable to meet with the president, there are other avenues to convey your message. You can approach the Senate President, Chief of Staff, or even the Vice President, who hails from the same state as you.”
Bwala also expressed his belief that Senator Ndume’s recent behavior must be causing embarrassment for Vice President Kashim Shettima.
“Using insinuations and confrontational language is unnecessary. Stop exploiting the suffering of Nigerians for your own personal gain. If you have only just realized that Nigerians are enduring hardships, then you are late to the party. Please reconsider your actions, distinguished senator.”
With his critical remarks, Bwala highlighted the need for constructive dialogue and genuine concern for the welfare of Nigerians, rather than engaging in self-serving tactics and sensationalism.
