The lifeless body of a young houseboy was discovered in an uncompleted building in the Independence Layout area of Enugu this evening.
The deceased, identified as 19-year-old Nedu Madueke, was reported missing earlier in the day by his employer, Mr. Nnamani, after he failed to return home from an errand.
Upon investigating, they found Nedu’s body lying in a secluded corner of the building. Local authorities were immediately notified, and the police have since cordoned off the area as they begin their investigation.
Mr. Nnamani, who employed Nedu as a houseboy over a year ago, expressed his shock and grief at the news. “Nedu was a diligent and respectful boy,” he said. “He was like a son to us, and this loss is unbearable.”
The police have not yet released details on the cause of death, but preliminary reports suggest foul play. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact circumstances surrounding Nedu’s demise.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
