The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made significant seizures of illicit substances disguised in everyday items destined for Europe.
Cocaine concealed within shoe soles and tramadol pills hidden in custard containers were uncovered in separate operations, as revealed by Femi Babafemi, the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy.
Videos shared on social media by Babafemi showcased the moment NDLEA officers discovered cocaine parcels ingeniously hidden in shoe soles, intended for shipment to Europe.
Another video depicted the unearthing of tramadol pills concealed inside custard containers.
In light of these discoveries, the agency issued a stern warning to travelers, urging them to exercise caution when asked to transport luggage or items on behalf of others, emphasizing the potential risks of unwittingly carrying illegal substances.
Babafemi underscored the importance of vigilance, stating, “These incidents underscore the need for extreme caution when handling packages entrusted to you for delivery.”
