National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, announced yesterday that the party has undergone a significant transformation with the change of its logo and constitution.
Speaking at a ceremony in Abuja, Kwankwaso highlighted that the new logo signifies the party’s mission regarding education and national development.
During the 2019 general elections, some supporters of the NNPP faced difficulties in identifying the party’s logo, which led to confusion and complications at the polls.
Recognizing the importance of addressing this issue, Kwankwaso explained that the change in the logo was necessary due to challenges in color separation and to ensure clarity for voters.
Ajuji Ahmed, the National Chairman of the NNPP, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that the previous logo caused confusion among supporters during the last general elections.
Ahmed expressed gratitude towards the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for approving the new logo, which will be featured on future ballot papers.
It is important to note that while the new logo will be implemented for upcoming elections, the old logo will still be used for the off-season Governorship election in Edo State and the upcoming re-run election in Kano State, due to logistical reasons.
However, starting with the off-season Governorship election in Ondo State on November 16, 2024, the new logo will be prominently displayed on ballot papers.
The NNPP views this transformation as a historic moment, marking a new era for the party. The revised logo symbolizes the party’s commitment to progress and inclusivity, aligning with the highest standards of democratic practice.
The NNPP extends its appreciation to INEC for its diligent and thorough handling of their request to enhance the party’s constitution and logo, ultimately promoting wider participation of Nigerians in the democratic process.
