The National Examination Council (NECO) has officially released the results for the 2024 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE). These results pertain to students aiming to attend Federal Government Colleges. Additionally, NECO has published the outcomes of the 2024 entrance exam for the Federal Government Academy in Suleja, Niger State.

National common entrance examination to hold April 20: NECO

Dr. Tanko Sununu, the Minister of State for Education, made this announcement during a press conference held in Abuja on Tuesday. He reported that a total of 71,291 candidates registered for the 2024 NCEE. Out of these, 66,931 candidates actually took the exam, while 4,360 were absent. One candidate achieved the highest score of 203 out of a possible 210, and 13 candidates received the lowest score of 1.

Dr. Sununu also highlighted an increase in examination malpractice this year, noting that 52 candidates were involved—2 from Lagos State and 50 from Rivers State. Regarding the Federal Government Academy (FGA) results, he shared that 2,649 candidates registered for the exam. Of these, 2,336 candidates attended, while 313 were absent. The highest score in this exam was 180, and the lowest was 5.

The Minister emphasized that the criteria for admission into Federal Unity Colleges remain unchanged: 60% merit-based, 30% equality of state, and 10% exigency. He directed the Senior Secondary Education Department of the Federal Ministry of Education to ensure that all admission processes are completed promptly and adhere to these criteria.

Dr. Sununu reassured parents that the government is committed to continually improving infrastructure, providing better meals, and enhancing teacher quality to ensure effective teaching and learning in the colleges.
