Mr. Olorunfemi, the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate, has conveyed his party’s mission to alleviate the hardships faced by the people of Ondo State.
With a resolute determination, he implored the residents of Ondo to grant his party the opportunity to serve and bring about a substantial change in their lives. Recognizing the pervasive suffering that has plagued not only the people of Ondo but also the entire nation, Olorunfemi emphasized the urgent need for a brighter future.
“Our primary goal is to redefine governance in Nigeria. Our people deserve nothing less than a life of improved quality,” he asserted. “Our communities have endured immense suffering due to a lack of leadership, goodwill, and political commitment.”
With an unwavering resolve, Olorunfemi pledged to restore happiness and bring sunshine back to the lives of the people of Ondo State. Highlighting his agenda, he stressed the importance of enhancing productivity and ensuring the equitable utilization of the state’s resources.
One of Olorunfemi’s key commitments is the establishment of state-of-the-art healthcare facilities across each electoral ward and cluster of polling units. Accessible and affordable healthcare services will be made available to all residents, with a strong emphasis on the primary and secondary healthcare systems.
“We firmly believe that without good health, education and productivity suffer. Therefore, we will prioritize the development and functionality of our healthcare systems, aligning them with international standards,” Olorunfemi affirmed. “Quality healthcare will be easily accessible and free for the people of Ondo.”
In addition to healthcare, Olorunfemi emphasized the importance of traditional medicine and its potential for both local use and export. He pledged to establish a robust center for the development of traditional medicines and supplements, harnessing the state’s abundant resources for the benefit of its people.
Olorunfemi also aims to revolutionize the education sector by implementing free and high-quality education at primary and secondary levels. He intends to reduce tuition fees in tertiary institutions by half, alleviating the financial burden on students and their families.
“The current exorbitant tuition fees in state-owned schools are unjustifiable. We will significantly reduce these fees, ensuring that education remains accessible to all,” he asserted. “Even with the reduced fees, the revenue generated will be sufficient to support and enhance the quality of our educational institutions.”
Recognizing Ondo State’s comparative advantage in the production of palm oil and garri, Olorunfemi pledged his commitment to empower and support local producers.
His government will provide necessary resources, including machinery and grants, to enhance production. Furthermore, the administration will actively engage in the marketing of these agricultural products, fostering direct purchasing from producers and encouraging private sector involvement.
