The revered Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, humbly appealed to the Nigerian populace to exercise patience and understanding towards the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

This heartfelt request was conveyed during a gracious visit by the esteemed First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to the majestic Iga Idugaran palace in Lagos.

In a statement released by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, it was revealed that the Oba wholeheartedly believes that President Tinubu has the best interests of the nation at heart and is a leader who prioritizes the needs of the grassroots.

With this in mind, the Oba implored Nigerians to unite in prayer for the well-being of the country and its dedicated President, understanding that “everything good needs prayers”.

Furthermore, the Oba seizes this opportunity to offer words of wisdom to the Nigerian youth. Recognizing their potential and acknowledging their diligent work ethic, he does not shy away from addressing the issue of those who may lean towards idleness and dependency.

Encouraging them to draw closer to God, the Oba advises them to cultivate self-sufficiency and independence, urging them to learn the art of “fishing themselves” rather than perpetually relying on handouts.

During the visit, the Oba reiterated his long-standing plea for Lagos State to be granted a special status, considering its historical significance as the former federal capital. This request comes from a deep-rooted belief in the tremendous potential of Lagos and its ability to serve as a beacon of progress and development.

In response, the First Lady, accompanied by the wives of South-West governors, distinguished members of the National Assembly, and respected ministers, assures the Oba that President Tinubu possesses love for Nigeria and its people. She affirmed that the President will spare no effort in striving to fulfill the nation’s aspirations and dreams.
