The leadership of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the Southeast has unequivocally rejected Edozie Njoku as the party’s National Chairman, dismissing his alleged recognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a farce.
In a statement issued on behalf of the party’s Southeast leadership, APGA National Vice Chairman, South East, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, urged INEC to promptly reverse its alleged recognition of Njoku. Ehiemere emphasized that Njoku had never emerged from any APGA national convention nor had he been legally declared as the party’s national chairman by any court. He vehemently opposed what he described as an attempt by Njoku to seize leadership through illegitimate means.
Ehiemere asserted that Chief Sly Ezeokenwa, duly elected at the APGA 2023 convention in Awka, remains the authentic National Chairman of the party. He also acknowledged Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State as APGA’s national leader, urging the public to disregard Njoku and his associates.
Furthermore, Ehiemere threatened to expose those backing Njoku’s faction to disrupt APGA, asserting that their agenda would fail. He stated, “APGA leadership in the South East, including the five state Chairmen and all stakeholders in the zone, vehemently rejects the purported declaration of Edozie Njoku and his alleged recognition by INEC as APGA National Chairman.”

He called on INEC to swiftly de-recognize Njoku and revert to acknowledging Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa as the legitimate National Chairman of APGA. The statement emphasized Njoku’s absence from any genuine APGA membership registry, challenging his credentials to lead the party.
The controversy underscores a deep-seated factional rift within APGA, with Ehiemere’s statement reflecting a firm stance against what he perceives as an unauthorized attempt to usurp the party’s leadership.
