English Premier League club Manchester United has completed the signing of a Nigerian descent forward Joshua Orobosa Zirkzee from Serie A club Bologna.
Zirkzee joined United on a reported €42.5 million having agreed on a five-year deal.
Considering his full name, Joshua Orobosa Zirkzee, his middle name Orobosa in a Nigerian language (Edo State) is interpreted as “One who is in God’s hand”.
The forward is born to a Dutch father and a Nigerian mother and eldest of the family.
The 23-year old was considered as one of the rising talents in the Serie A last season having made a huge impact for his club Bologna.
Zirkzee was part of the team that qualified Bologna to a Champions League place finish last term and as described by his former coach, Thiago Motta, he is a player that is guaranteed a great future.
Having represented the Netherlands in the just concluded European Championship, Zirkzee is on holiday and will link up with his new teammates in the next two weeks.
