A devastating flood swept away a taxi carrying several passengers in Ogun State this afternoon. The incident occurred around 2:10 PM in the densely populated area of Abeokuta South.
Eyewitnesses reported that the taxi was attempting to navigate through a heavily flooded road when the powerful current overwhelmed the vehicle. Despite the driver’s efforts to control the car, the floodwaters proved too strong, dragging the taxi into a nearby river.
Local authorities, including the Ogun State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), have been dispatched to the scene to conduct search and rescue operations. As of now, the number of passengers in the taxi remains unconfirmed, and their whereabouts are still unknown.
