Ace comedian Chibuike Josh Alfred, widely known as Josh2Funny, has opened up about the competition in the Nigerian comedy and content creation industry.
During an appearance on ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, Josh2Funny addressed claims that there is no competition in the content-creating space, calling such assertions “sugar-coating.”
He asserted, “Let nobody tell you that there’s no competition in the comedy industry. There’s competition.”
Despite acknowledging the competitive nature of the industry, Josh2Funny emphasized that he stands out with his unique comedic style, which has gained international recognition. “As we speak now, my comedy is interpreted in Mandarin, Hindi, Russian, French, and other languages. I’m not with you guys, bro. I’m not anybody’s mate in this comedy industry,” he said.

He also expressed frustration with fellow comedians who imitate his trends and styles without giving proper credit. “What I won’t take is for people to be copying what I initiated without crediting me. No, I won’t take that,” Josh2Funny stated.
Josh2Funny’s remarks highlight the competitive and sometimes contentious nature of the comedy industry, while also showcasing his pride in the global reach of his work.
