The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has firmly rejected the idea of suspending Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo from the party. This declaration was made by APGA’s National Chairman, Edozie Njoku, during a press conference held in Lagos State.
Njoku expressed that suspending Soludo would only serve to benefit rival parties, namely the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He emphasized that the party has no intention of taking such a drastic action, noting that internal conflicts are common in political organizations.
“The current atmosphere of peace within APGA makes a suspension unnecessary. Such a move would only empower the APC and possibly the PDP,” Njoku stated.
He further explained, “If we were to suspend Soludo today, who would truly gain from that decision? It would be the opposition parties.”
Acknowledging that no political party is without its challenges, he highlighted the importance of maintaining harmony. “We are focused on reconciliation, which is a difficult process. In Nigeria, due to prevailing hardships, a variety of opinions often emerge. It’s essential to recognize that everyone is entitled to their perspectives.”
Njoku also addressed previous suggestions to suspend Governor Soludo, confirming that while the National Working Committee (NWC) had considered it, no consensus was reached on the matter.
“The topic was indeed brought up, but ultimately, no agreement was achieved,” he concluded, reinforcing the party’s commitment to unity and peace.
