A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ashafa Waziri, emphasized the necessity for the party to elect leaders who possess the competence and capacity to elevate the party’s status in Kaduna State by 2027. Speaking to journalists in Kaduna on Wednesday, Waziri highlighted the qualities needed in future leaders, stating, “Leaders who will be fair, just and ready to sacrifice their time, knowledge, contacts, and above all their financial resources for the good and progress of the PDP.”
Waziri expressed his confidence in his own ideas and initiatives, which he believes can lead the PDP to greater heights in Kaduna State and ultimately secure victory in the 2027 elections. He assured that, with divine guidance and the support of the party’s numerous supporters, the PDP is poised to make a strong comeback and rescue Nigeria from its current challenges.
Aspiring for the position of PDP Chairman in Kaduna State, Waziri emphasized that his leadership would be based on principles of justice, equity, accountability, inclusiveness, and transparency. He promised that, if elected as state chairman, he would reposition the party and ensure that everyone is included in its progress.

Reflecting on his previous attempt to contest for the state chairmanship of the party, Waziri expressed his unwavering belief in his ability to transform the state chapter of the PDP for the better. “I have the wherewithal, the competence, the knowledge, the energy, and the strength to be the bridge builder that will unite the PDP in Kaduna State and restore its past glory,” he stated.
Waziri lamented the party’s crises and electoral defeats since 2015, noting that the narrative has remained unchanged with losses in both the 2019 and 2023 elections. His decision to contest again for the state chairman position in the upcoming congresses is driven by his desire to lay the proper groundwork for the 2027 elections. “I have what it takes to mobilize the needed forces across the state to ensure victory for the PDP in 2027,” Waziri assured.
