Men of the Nigerian Police, Akwa Ibom State branch have arrested one Daniel Edem Okon and Samaila Salisu over the murder of one Mr Saviour Anthony Effiong.
According to an Uyo-based Journalist, Harrison Essien, Mr Saviour who is a commercial Motorcyclist was on his routine work of carrying passengers in exchange for cash.
He was reportedly stopped by a passenger around 9pm at Idoro road, ordered him for a drop at Mbikpon Ikot Edim in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Mr Saviour was then beheaded and buried in a shallow grave along the road as the culprit carted away with the Motorcycle, promoting men of the Nigerian Police to swing into immediate investigation.
On Friday, 12th July, 2024 at about 8:30pm, operatives on routine patrol atTimber Market in Uyo accosted two suspects.
One Daniel Edem Okon, who claimed to be 23 years old and Samaila Salisu, a self-claimed 20 year-old on a motorcycle without Identification Number.
The Police say after rigorous interrogation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the crime.
Parading them at the Police Headquarters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Waheed Ayilara said the body of Effiong has been exhumed and deposited in a morgue.
