Tragedy struck in a small community in Edo State in the middle of the night when a young man was shot dead by a local herbalist during a charm test.

The victim, identified as 28-year-old Mike Apakta, had visited the herbalist, known as Baba Odu, to acquire a charm that would purportedly make him invulnerable to bullets.

According to eyewitnesses, Mike had approached Baba Odu with the request for the charm, believing that it would protect him from harm in any violent confrontation. The herbalist, who has been known for providing various traditional remedies and charms, assured Mike that he could make him bulletproof.
