On Monday, Mrs. Esther Ebiwonjumi, a former Woman Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). She cited Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s leadership style as the main reason for her departure from the PDP.

She pledged to support Governor Aiyedatiwa’s bid for the southern senatorial district in the upcoming governorship election. She promised that the new APC members would initiate a house-to-house campaign to ensure victory for Aiyedatiwa and the APC.

Governor Aiyedatiwa welcomed Ebiwonjumi and her supporters, expressing optimism about further defections from the PDP to the APC. He encouraged both new and long-standing party members to unite and work together to retain APC’s power in the state.

Addressing various concerns raised during the event, including issues related to infrastructure, electricity, and employment, the governor committed to addressing these challenges. He emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to achieve party success and promised to critically examine and resolve these issues.
