The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is in a continuous hunt for a head coach of the men’s senior national team, the Super Eagles.

Sequel to the resignation of the head coach, Finidi George, the role has been vacant hence as several names have been mentioned.

It was reported last week that Nigeria’s sports Minister John Owan was in Paris to negotiate final details of the deal with the agent of Éric Chelle as he was seen as a possible replacement for Finidi George.

But the revelation of Harvey Renard accepting a pay cut has pissed a serious threat in the announcement of the Malian coach, Chelle.

Renard initially asked for a N250 million monthly wage when the NFF negotiated with him for the Eagles Job.

But according to recent reports, the former Ivorian and Zambian coach is ready to take the job in a N150 million monthly wage after his resignation from the French women National team job.

Renard won the AFCON with Ivory Coast and Zambia and his first task of he takes the Super Eagles Job will be to qualify Nigeria to the 2026 FIFA world cup as Nigeria currently remains 5th in the log.
