President Bola Tinubu has reached out to the citizens of Nigeria, urging them to remain patient with his administration, as he promises that the nation is on the brink of a transformative phase.

In a statement made on Wednesday, Tinubu acknowledged the difficulties that Nigerians are facing due to the recent removal of the fuel subsidy, which has undeniably added to the economic strain.

He recognized that there has been an unnecessary delay between the subsidy removal and the implementation of beneficial plans, which has exacerbated the struggles of the populace.

“Dear Nigerians, I understand this moment is challenging, and there’s no denying the tough times we are experiencing. However, I implore you to look beyond the immediate discomfort and focus on the broader vision we have for our future.

Our beneficial initiatives are being formulated, and I am confident they will yield positive results. Unfortunately, we encountered an avoidable gap between the subsidy removal and the full rollout of these initiatives,” he stated.

The President reassured the public that the steps his government is taking will help navigate the country out of its ongoing economic turmoil, encouraging Nigerians to trust in his leadership.

“I urge you all to have faith in our capability to deliver and our genuine concern for your welfare. We will overcome this challenging period, and thanks to our proactive measures, Nigeria will be better prepared to seize the opportunities that lie ahead.

“For instance, we remain committed to making education more accessible for everyone and will offer financial assistance to higher education students in need. No student should have to leave the education system due to financial constraints.

“Our goal is to ensure the greatest benefit for the largest number of people. Rest assured, my fellow citizens, we are moving from darkness toward a brilliant new dawn. Now, I must return to my duties to turn this vision into reality,” he concluded.

This address marks the second occasion the President has spoken to the nation amidst ongoing tensions in various regions.
