Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) has announced a large-scale recruitment of primary school teachers. The board will be interviewing a staggering 8,197 candidates between August 8th and 23rd, offering employment opportunities to qualified individuals across the state.
The decision to conduct these interviews comes on the heels of a computer-based assessment test that was held earlier, where a total of 45,827 applicants participated. Out of this pool, only the top 8,197 candidates, who scored 50% or above, have been selected to proceed to the interview stage.
“This recruitment drive is a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing quality education for the children of Oyo State,” said Dr. Nureni Adeniran, the OYOSUBEB Chairman. “We are determined to build a strong and competent teaching workforce that can deliver the best possible learning experience to our students.”
The interviews will be held at the OYOSUBEB headquarters in Agodi Gate, Ibadan, the state capital. Applicants have been instructed to come prepared with printouts of their application slips, computer-based test result slips, and interview schedule slips.
The move comes at a crucial time when the state is grappling with a shortage of qualified teachers in its primary schools. This recruitment drive is expected to address this challenge and improve the overall quality of basic education in Oyo State.
“We recognize the vital role that teachers play in shaping the minds of our children,” Adeniran added. “By bringing on board these highly skilled individuals, we aim to create a more nurturing and stimulating learning environment for our students.”
The interview process will commence at 9 am daily, with applicants being scheduled based on their local government areas. This systematic approach is designed to ensure a fair and efficient selection process.
In addition to the recruitment drive, OYOSUBEB has also been working on other initiatives to enhance the quality of basic education in the state. This includes the implementation of a comprehensive teacher training and development program, as well as the provision of modern teaching and learning resources to schools.
“Our goal is to create a holistic educational ecosystem that empowers both our teachers and students,” said Adeniran. “By investing in our human capital and infrastructure, we are confident that we can lay the foundation for a brighter future for the children of Oyo State.”
The upcoming teacher interviews are expected to generate significant interest and excitement among the local community. With the opportunity to join the ranks of Oyo State’s primary school teaching force, many applicants are eagerly awaiting their chance to contribute to the state’s educational transformation.
As the interview process unfolds, OYOSUBEB remains committed to upholding the highest standards of transparency and fairness, ensuring that the best-qualified candidates are selected to fill these coveted teaching positions.
