In a surprising revelation, Big Brother Naija Season 9 housemate Zion, 26, confessed that his girlfriend and partner on the show, Chinwe, 30, isn’t his ideal type, but he’s in the relationship because of the benefits he receives from her.

During a candid conversation with fellow housemate Fairme on Thursday, Zion explained that although Chinwe doesn’t fit his usual “spec,” she treats him far better than those who do.

“She [Chinwe] is actually a matured lady. She is the firstborn, she takes care of her siblings. Her mother is late and her dad has remarried,” Zion shared. He went on to describe the thoughtful ways Chinwe cares for him, saying, “When I go her house, she go cook nice food, food wey choke, like she go cook plenty. She go cook to make me stay the night sef because me I no want spend night for girl house… She’s very prayerful. All these qualities dey.”

Despite acknowledging that Chinwe isn’t his typical preference, Zion reflected on how his past experiences with his “spec” haven’t been as fulfilling. “Na just the vibe of everything, na homely woman even if she no be my normal spec, na just the nyash be my spec normal. I come reason say I don dey with my spec plenty, dem no do like this.”

Fairme agreed, emphasizing the importance of character over looks in relationships. “Exactly, this one hits different. That’s why we tell women that it’s not just the looks, the character, how you treat the man matters most.”

Zion echoed this sentiment, stating, “How you treat a man matters,” while also noting the differences between Gen Z and millennials in relationships.

Interestingly, during a previous argument, Chinwe revealed that she had “sponsored” Zion to participate in the show, adding another layer to their complex relationship dynamic.
