The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced that its ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) account is temporarily down as part of an ongoing upgrade to improve its global presence.
EFCC Spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, informed thepaan, stating, “Our X account is temporarily offline due to an upgrade, but we will be back online soon.”
He explained that system upgrades often result in temporary downtime, adding, “The upgrade is being carried out to enhance our service to the public. Our other social media platforms remain active.”
Oyewale also clarified that the account had not been hacked, saying, “We are simply updating our records, and the account will be up and running soon.”
On Thursday, the EFCC’s X account, which has over two million followers, displayed a message stating, “The term you entered did not bring up any results. Please try again later.”
Despite the temporary unavailability of the X account, the agency’s website and other social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, remain fully operational
The accounts on social media may be inaccessible for various reasons, including poor internet connection, cache issues, suspicious activity, or violations of platform policies.
