A disturbing incident unfolded this evening at a popular hotel in Abeokuta, Ogun State, when a payment disagreement between an internet fraudster, popularly known as a “Yahoo boy,” and a sex worker turned violent.
The altercation reportedly escalated when the fraudster refused to pay for the services rendered, leading to a brutal assault on the woman.
According to eyewitnesses, the fraudster, whose identity remains undisclosed, assaulted the sex worker, beating her to the point of losing consciousness. The shocking event quickly drew the attention of hotel staff and other guests, who rushed to the scene and alerted the authorities.
The sex worker, who was severely injured, managed to contact the police after regaining consciousness. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers arrested the fraudster and took him into custody. The victim was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
As investigations continue, the police are yet to release an official statement on the incident. However, this situation sheds light on the growing tension between sex workers and internet fraudsters, who often engage in similar conflicts over payment disputes.
