Hon. Abdulmumini Hassan, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ningi Local Government, has made serious allegations against the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), claiming that the electoral process has been compromised.
In a statement to reporters in Ningi, Hassan voiced his alarm, stating that the election was tainted by irregularities even before the results were officially declared.
He outlined his grievances, highlighting incidents such as the assault on an APC representative, unauthorized voting favoring the PDP, and the involvement of PDP members in the role of electoral officers. Furthermore, he accused the authorities of concealing election materials in certain wards throughout Ningi.
Hassan also pointed out that materials had not yet reached approximately seven wards, all of which are known APC strongholds, suggesting that this was a deliberate tactic due to concerns over the expected results in those areas.
He proclaimed the election results to be null and void, urging officials to dismiss the outcomes. Additionally, he claimed that the Governor of Bauchi State is anxious about the results and has resorted to various methods to manipulate the electoral process.
In a related incident, a video surfaced showing underage children participating in voting for PDP candidates at polling stations in Senior Primary School, Maciya, and Kofar AAY in Ningi Ward.
At the Bunusai Ningi East Polling Unit, only PDP supporters were observed casting their votes, raising further concerns about the fairness of the election.
As voting concluded in many polling units across Ningi, the allegations of electoral misconduct continue to cast a shadow over the legitimacy of the process.
