In a shocking and tragic incident in Ibadan, a 16-year-old boy, Malik Kareem, was beheaded in a ritual operation allegedly orchestrated by three close friends and a local Alfa.
Malik, who just finished writing his final exams from the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), was lured into the gruesome act by his friends.
Reports suggest that Malik had initially approached the Alfa for wealth rituals with his friends, unaware that they had secretly conspired with the cleric to use him as the sacrifice.
A concerned neighbor, who reportedly overheard the group’s suspicious conversation, immediately alerted Malik’s family. Unfortunately, by the time the family arrived at the Alfa’s residence, it was already too late.
The Alfa had fled, taking Malik’s severed head with him, leaving behind the boy’s lifeless, headless body.
The family was devastated to learn that the Alfa had promised the boys that he would burn Malik’s head and mix it with pap for daily consumption to bring them riches.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the Alfa and Malik’s three friends who are currently on the run.
