Fans of Dutch club Roda JC gave Tijani Babangida a special reception as he visited for the first time after tragedy hit his family.

The Former Super Eagles star Tijani Babangida lost his brother and son a few months back in a ghastly motor accident in Nigeria.

His former club, RODA JC Kerkrade of Holland, invited him for a recovery party after he left the club for over 10 years with their fans and former teammates with Roda JC legends.

He was celebrated on the pitch before RODA JC Kerkrade played 0-0 with Top Oss on Saturday.

The now 50-year old started his football adventure abroad with Roda JC back in 1991 and spent time until he left on loan in 1996 to VVV Venlo spending three years at the club.

The pacy winger made 36 appearances for Nigeria’s male senior national team, the Super Eagles scoring five goals before hanging up his boots.
