A commercial motorcyclist tragically lost his life on Tuesday in the Oke-Osun area of Osogbo, near Fountain University, after a sand-laden lorry collided with his motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, who was carrying an officer from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) as a passenger, died instantly at the scene.
The identity of the NSCDC officer remains unknown at the time of this report.
The officer sustained critical injuries in the accident and is currently receiving treatment from medical professionals.
The deceased’s body has been taken to a mortuary at an undisclosed hospital in the town.
Confirming the incident, Osun State Police Command spokesperson, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola, stated that one life was lost in the accident.
She added that the traffic section is handling the matter, and the situation is under control.
