Salihu Lukman, the former National Vice Chairman for the North-West region of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has voiced his concerns about President Bola Tinubu, suggesting that he may surpass former President Muhammadu Buhari in terms of poor governance.
In a statement he released, Lukman expressed his discontent with the current state of leadership in Nigeria, claiming that conditions are worsening under Tinubu’s administration. He reflected on the previous tenure of Buhari, asserting that it was less effective than that of Goodluck Jonathan, and warned that a similar decline could occur with the next president in 2027.
Lukman questioned, “If the APC faces defeat in 2027, what assurance do we have that the incoming administration after President Tinubu will not be even worse?”
He emphasized that Nigerians have observed a troubling trend where governments seem to progressively fail to meet the expectations of the people.
“Despite the initial confidence many placed in former President Buhari, his administration ultimately fell short, arguably worse than that of Jonathan,” Lukman remarked. “It appears that President Tinubu is on a similar trajectory to surpass Buhari’s shortcomings.”
