On Thursday, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed his strong belief that the party will emerge victorious in the upcoming Edo governorship election scheduled for September 21.

During a meeting with the leadership of the Kano State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), led by Chairman Aminu Garko, Ganduje outlined the party’s strategic plans for a resounding win.

He stated, “We have established a robust political framework aimed at ensuring a decisive victory for our party’s candidate.”

Ganduje remarked, “Our campaign is filled with enthusiasm, and we are diligently preparing for the election. We are confident that we will reclaim our state.”

He reflected on the past, noting, “Edo was under APC governance, but internal challenges led to its loss to the PDP. However, we are optimistic about regaining control.”

Speaking about Ondo State, he added, “Ondo is already firmly in APC hands, and while the late Governor left behind some challenges, we have successfully navigated those issues.”

Ganduje also mentioned that the party is gearing up for elections in November and emphasized, “A win in Edo would mean adding another state to our roster, bringing our total to 21 out of 36 states.”

Looking ahead to next year’s Anambra elections, which have historically been dominated by the APGA, he stated, “We are rolling out a new strategy to challenge that trend.”

He acknowledged the political claims of marginalization from various regions, stating, “The North and South-East are expressing concerns about marginalization, but we believe that such divides are self-created.”

He continued, “How can five states be governed by four different parties? What kind of political agreement can be reached under those circumstances?”

Ganduje affirmed the party’s determination to expand its influence in the region, saying, “We are aiming to make inroads into Anambra, having already established a presence in Ebonyi and Imo. Our goal is to secure as many states as possible, and with our efforts, we are confident we can capture them all.”
